Ik vroeg me eigenlijk af waarom ik dit eigenlijk in het engels doe, volgens mij zijn de mensen die het lezen toch nederlands dusssszz.

Nouja terug uit Scandinavië. 2,5 week weggeweest door Noorwegen, Zweden en Denemarken. Voor de foto check diszz.hier!

Paar dagen na terugkomst was ik een beetje ziek, daarna Pien. Een perfecte gelegenheid om een weekendlang eens niets te doen. Voor ons beiden een hele prestatie. Films, louis theroux, house, shameless hebben ons het weekend doorgeholpen.

Toen naar de action een BBQ kopen. wij alles gekocht mooi. Prikvorkjes voor Melvin om mannelijk te kunnen prikken. Komen we thuis, begint het te regenen! Toch doorgaan, na een trage start heb ik toch uit kunnen vinden hoe ik dat ding gloeiende heet kan krijgen. Dus binnenkort weer een massive bbq!.

Na het zien van DE bob dylan docu no direction home (had hem ooit half gezien) weer helemaal into den bob!.

En heb ook bijna Foucault's Pendulum uit, interessant maar moeilijk te behappen boek!

The American Analog Set

(The) American Analog Set, or AmAnSet seems to be one of my favorite bands. When people ask me what my favorite band is, I almost never mention AmAnset. Strange in a way, because everytime I listen to their music it feels so fresh and pure. And it's pretty high in my last.fm most played list as well.

The repetitive elements and the small changes, that cause an emotional landslide, make the music very special to me. At the Paradiso show on their last tour (might be their last tour ever, though they said they were going to make some more music) I bought a limited 12" with four songs on it from their latest record. They re-worked four songs, stretching their duration (2 songs on each side of the transparent vinyl). Andrew Kenny (guitarist/singer) told me they liked these versions better, but didn't want to scare people of by releasing such long songs.

Ofcourse I should mention the amazing production on every record, almost as a warm blanket.

Time for me to make a nice AmAnSet playlist...'Come Home Baby Julie, Come Home' is already playing.

Holiday Season

Okay, so the holiday season has started. Passed all the exams, making me a happy man.

In just over two weeks time I will be heading over to Scandinavia with the lovely Pien Feith. We start in Copenhagen and from there travel through Sweden and Norway. There is no definite plan, but the planning-addict in me is begging for something to hold on to. Okay we will stop in the capitals, there you have it.
